King Charles III greets UK PM Liz Truss with an 'oh dear' at first weekly audience. Details here
King Charles III meets the new British PM, Liz Truss, for the first weekly audience, and the faux pas and disasters seem to be following the prime minister in her wake.

After meeting with the King and Queen of Malaysia, the British monarch met the prime minister in the palace.
Footage broadcast by the Palace at the beginning of their weekly audience shows servants opening double doors and the King's equerry escorting Ms. Truss inside.
It just took a few seconds of video from Wednesday night's meeting at Buckingham Palace to make matters worse.
As PM Truss bowed and addressed King Charles III as "Your Majesty," King Charles III answered, "So you've come back again?"
While PM Truss responded, "It's my pleasure," King Charles III could only murmur, "Dear Oh, dear." Anyway...
Truss: “Your Majesty… Lovely to see you again.”

King: “Back again. Dear oh dear. Anyway…”
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. 😂😂pic.twitter.com/ENP8pPl9kO
The video rapidly went viral after another day of economic market volatility and mutinous plotting in the Conservative party's backbenches. There was a massive Twitter uproar among the opposition.
The meeting followed Ms. Truss's first PMQs since the mini-budget, which plunged markets into mayhem as the pound hit a record low versus the dollar. In a stalemate with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, she said she wouldn't decrease public spending.
