Just John Films will specialize in optioning, developing, and producing projects, both independently and in collaboration with external partners. Embracing an artist-driven perspective, the company pledges to spotlight diverse and captivating stories while fostering a supportive and joyful environment to nurture creativity and excellence throughout the filmmaking process.
The company has already curated its inaugural lineup, which features the adaptation of Annie Garthwaite’s acclaimed historical novel "Cecily," delving into the life of royal Tudor matriarch Cecily Neville. Additionally, Just John Films is collaborating with Silver Salt Films on an untitled Sylvia Plath project. Further projects are slated to be announced in the coming months.
Kate Phillips, known for her roles in "Hijack," "Peaky Blinders," and "The Crown," expressed her enthusiasm for the venture, stating, "I feel deeply passionate about this new endeavor and the stories we're eager to bring to life.
