Catherine's visit to France followed her son Prince George's trip to Marseille on Saturday, where he cheered for the Welsh team alongside his father, Prince William. However, Wales' World Cup dreams came to a close as they faced defeat against Argentina. On the other hand, the princess, a fervent supporter of the England team, was present to witness their thrilling 30-24 win over Fiji.

Upon her arrival, she was warmly greeted by RFU President Rob Briers and World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont. The princess was then escorted to her seat in the prestigious presidential box at Marseille's Stade Vélodrome. During her interaction with Sir Bill Beaumont, she inquired if he was "still surviving" after the series of intense games. To this, he responded, "Absolutely," expressing his excitement and sharing that he had witnessed a total of 18 matches.
Inquiring about Prince George's experience at the match on Saturday, Sir Bill Beaumont asked, to which Kate replied, "He did, he loved it so much." She also spoke to Mr. Briers, donned in a white jacket and black trousers, expressing her optimism and stating, "Let's keep our fingers crossed. I've been watching a few games. It's been really great. It's been a really successful World Cup."
The princess's elation spilled over into the changing room as she offered her congratulations to the team for their impressive victory. As the patron of the Rugby Football Union, Kate had also attended England's opening match in September when they secured a victory against Argentina.
