Joni Mitchell announces latest project in an interview with Elton John on his Apple Music radio show Rocket Hour. Her upcoming album is collaboration with Brandi Carlile and will also feature other artists.

Joni’s soon-to-be-launched album will be a collaboration with American singer Brandi Carlile. It will also feature artists like Marcus Mumford, Blake Mills, Wynonna Judd, and others. The album will mark the legendary folk singer’s full feature in more than two decades. The live performance saw Joni singing from an onstage throne and also her performing a guitar solo for ‘Just Like This Train’.
Talking more about it, Joni said that her performance came across as too intimate for the people and compared it to ‘(Bob) Dylan going electric’. She also said that the current generation faces emotions more easily than hers. Joni also expressed her disgust with wars and remarked that Chuck Berry as a GOAT( greatest of all times) rock musician.
Joni Mitchell suffered an aneurysm in March 2015, following which she has been struggling with her health. The 79-year-old musician's last studio album, ‘Shine’, was released in September 2007. The American-Canadian folk singer is all set to perform at her first headliner in 23 years at the Gorge Amphitheatre, Washington, in June 2023.
