More than 6,000 complaints have been received by the Ipso over Jeremy Clarkson’s column about Meghan Markle in The Sun. Ipso, which is an independent press standards organisation, told BBC that the complaints were being made in accordance with its usual protocol.

In an article published in the newspaper, Clarkson wrote he "hated [Meghan] on a cellular level." Later, Clarkson suffered a major backlash on his comments as people on social media badly criticised the writer.

"I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything my dad wrote about Meghan Markle," Clarkson's own daughter Emily said on Sunday.

In the year 2021, a total of 14,355 complaints were made to the Ipso. Following the Thursday release of the final three episodes of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, his piece was published. In a post on Instagram page on Sunday, podcast host Emily Clarkson expressed solidarity for individuals "targeted with internet abuse."
