Jason Momoa fully embraces his Fun Fantasy Dad persona in Slumberland on Netflix

Slumberland, a touching production on Netflix with stunning visuals, was most recently the result of it inspiring writer-director duo David Guion and Michael Handelman to revisit Nemo's world. The "lore" of McCay's comic strip is reduced to its core elements in Slumberland. Every time they go to sleep, a kind-hearted child returns to a magical quest. They team up with a dubious sidekick and seem to awaken every time the action reaches a crescendo.

In this modern version, Nemo plays the role of Marlow Barkley, a boy who lost his parents. He has to leave his usual lighthouse and live with his incredibly dull and unprepared brother. She finds safety in Slumberland when she meets Flip (Jason Momoa). With fangs, ram's horns, clown shoes, fingerless gloves, spiky hair and nail polish, Momoa's take on the character is a dreamy hedonistic outlaw/adventurer in a pink coat. Momoa gives a clown act that never feels over the top when playing Flip.
