Jason Lee says he felt ‘violated’ by David Baddiel’s impersonation of blackface, terms it ‘new layer of abuse’
Footballer Jason Lee said that he was “violated on so many levels” by David Baddiel’s impersonation of blackface. And that the meeting between them is “long overdue”.

Baddiel even wore Blackface on one occasion while impersonating Lee. However, in a new documentary of Baddiel named Jews Don't’ Count, the pair encounter each other.
And Lee talked about this frosty meeting in a new interview. “I was receiving abuse for my skin colour before. I was desensitized to most abuses, but the abuse by Baddiel was of a “whole new layer,” Lee told The Times.
Jason Lee also said that his children got “traumatized” because of the abuse, and 25 years later, people still shout about “pineapple on his head”. He even told his mother to refrain from coming to the stadium as listening to people “abuse your child” must be difficult for any parent.
Lee said that the meeting between him and Baddiel was “long overdue” while talking about the moment he met Baddiel for the documentary. Lee said that before Baddiel walked in, he had “never seen him” and understood Baddiel needed to “address this situation” to move forward and benefit the documentary.
