James Arthur dismisses The Masked Singer Rhino rumours, points towards another star

English singer and songwriter James Arthur has dismissed rumours that he is The masked Singer contestant, Rhino and instead, pointed towards another famous star who could be participating in the popular ITV show. Issuing a response to the rumours that he is Rhino, the Middlesbrough-born singer said on Twitter that “for all those theorising, I am not the Rhino”. However, he pointed towards another famous singer and said Lewis Capaldi could be the singer on ITV’s The Masked Singer.



The suggestions that James Arthur could be the Rhino on The masked Singer came after the individual performed an outstanding version of Snow Patrol’s song ‘Chasing Cars’. The rumours were further stoked by the show’s host Joel Dommett who said that it was the voice of the first Masked Singer voice which he recognised. Dommett further said that he is a “huge fan”


The speculation was further magnified by social media users as one fan said that they think Rhino is the “big signing” for this year’s edition of the ITV show. Another Twitter user also declared that Rhino has got to be James Arthur.



However, James Arthur is not the only pop star that fans thought was behind the Rhino mask. Another suggested that it could be Charlie Simpson. The 37-year-old singer left the boy band to start the group Fightstar and was also among the popular choices of the fans. One of the viewers of The Masked Singer wrote on the microblogging platform that “Rhino is Charlie Simpson”.

In last night's show, Rhino competed with Piece of Cake on The Masked Singer. Piece of Cake was later known to be Scottish sensation Lulu.
