"Rush Hour 4" is under development, confirmed superstar Jackie Chan on Thursday. The renowned action hero was at the Red Sea International Film Festival last night, where he revealed that they were working on the fourth edition of the popular action-comedy franchise but said the script wasn’t confirmed.

Originally launched in 1998, "Rush Hour" featured Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as two mismatched cops who collaborate to fight crime. The movie became an instant success, which prompted the makers to release two sequels, ‘Rush Hour 2’ (2002) and ‘Rush Hour 3’ (2007). The three movies cemented the franchise as a cult classic. The fourth instalment of the series could be the last one, he did not want to play a part of Hong Kong police anymore.

Reports of the fourth instalment of the ‘Rush Hour’ franchise have been doing rounds for a few years. In 2017, Jackie Chan confirmed that he had agreed on a script, while Tucker revealed that he was on board, too, the subsequent year. At the time, Tucker had said the fourth part would be “the rush of all rushes” and that they wanted to give the viewers an unforgettable experience.

However, since the initial reports, there’s been no significant development on the project, barring a few unconfirmed rumours that shooting had begun in 2018. However, the new revelations have finally given some hope to the fans. The CZ 12 actor also revealed that former world boxing champion, Mike Tyson, will be a part of ‘Rush Hour 4’.

The first three films in the franchise were directed by Brett Ratner. But whether Ratner will also direct the new sequel remains unclear, after six women, including Natasha Henstridge and Olivia Munn, accused the filmmaker of sexual harassment in 2017, which he vehemently denied.
