ITV has launched a new streaming service. The viewers are promised an improved product that will offer a comprehensive experience of all ITV services. In addition, ITVX became the first streaming service in the UK where viewers can choose free content with ads and paid ad-free service.

ITV officials have indicated that the new service will offer viewers more original shows for free than any other streaming platform. An estimated 10,000 hours of free programmes will be available.

The broadcaster added that a majority of its new content would break on ITVX at least six to nine months before the new content(s) are aired on the traditional ITV channels. As a first, the service will offer the first global British sign language channel.

What are the charges?

The regular service is free, but it comes with ads. The premium service offering ad-free programmes will cost £5.99 a month or £59.99 annually. Additionally, the service will permit downloads for offline viewing. Access to Brit box, too, is part of the premium plan.
