ITV's Love Island: Maya Jama to be new host of the show, say reports

Presenter and DJ Maya Jama has apparently been named as the new host of ITV's Love Island. Jama has also agreed to appear on the show, and her contract is reportedly being finalised now, media reports said.

Laura Whitmore, the previous host of Love Island, had announced her resignation in an Instagram post in August. In the post, she announced that she would not be hosting the upcoming season of Love Island.





Whitmore said that she is not able to commit herself for another season due to some parts of the show format like the frequent trips to South Africa and back that had made it particularly challenging for her to manage other new competing projects with the upcoming season of Love Island.

She said that she knows the show will be in good hands. She was only planning to replace Caroline for one series, which eventually turned into three series.

Jama was among the favourites to host the well-liked dating programme with considerable odds favouring her, the reports added.

The 28-year-old was the ideal choice for host of ITV's Love Island. She is charming, gorgeous and an excellent presenter.
