ITV2 dating show 'Love Island' pair Luca Bish, Gemma Owen announce split, here’s what happened

Luca Bish, 23, and Gemma Owen,19, who had met each other during the popular ITV dating show, ‘Love Island’, have decided to break up.

The pair's announcement on Instagram comes less than four months after they're leaving the Love Island villa.

Luca was not the original partner of Gemma, the daughter of England football legend Michael Owen, in the show. She was coupled with Liam Llewellyn, who had exited the show early. As a couple with Luca on the show, they did well to make it to the final, losing eventually to the pair David and Ekin.


In the final, Luca and Gemma got 14.5% of the popular public votes.

Luca and Gemma entered a relationship in August before making their split public on Wednesday night.

A tough decision

While thanking her fans for taking an interest in her life, Gemma said the decision to separate was tough and hoped her supporters would continue to be with her. On the other hand, Lucas mentioned taking some time off by switching his phone off for some privacy. He clarified the decision was mutual. While wishing Gemma the best, Luca asserts they will remain friends.
