On September 19, all the broadcasters in the UK will show coverage of Queen Elizabeth II's burial. Here's how the BBC, ITV, and Sky News will commemorate the momentous day.

Queen Elizabeth II, passed away at the age of 96 on September 8. The Queen will be put to rest on September 19, with her funeral to be broadcast live for the world to watch. The BBC, ITV, and Sky News will lead the coverage in the UK, with people around the country paying respect to their Queen.

The queen and her lengthy reign will be remembered at the funeral, which begins at 11 a.m. Many dignitaries and foreign leaders will attend the burial to bid the Queen goodbye.

Kirsty Young, Huw Edwards, David Dimbleby, Fergal Keane, and Sophie Raworth will lead the BBC coverage from around the UK. Huw and Fergal will be in London, while Kirsty and David will be coming live from Windsor.

Sophie will be at Parliament Square, while Anita Rani will be live from the Long Walk in Windsor. JJ Chalmers will be at Wellington Barracks as everyone gathers to commemorate the momentous day. The special broadcast will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on BBC One, BBC Two, and iPlayer, with BSL coverage on BBC Two.

ITV's coverage will be led by commentators Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham. Their coverage will begin at 9.30 a.m. and include the burial liturgy at Westminster Abbey and the mile-long military parade as the monarch makes her last trip through London. The Queen's last trip to Windsor, and the committal service at St George's Chapel, will be shown on ITV.

The special Sky News broadcast will begin at 5 a.m. when Her Majesty's Lying-in-State concludes. Kamali Melbourne will be live from Westminster Abbey until 7 a.m. when Kay Burley will take over. She will describe the day's events before Anna Botting and Dermot Murnaghan take over for a special broadcast of the funeral procession beginning at 9 a.m.

FAQ

How many people are expected to attend?
Since Westminster Abbey can only hold about 2,000 people, only heads of state and one or two guests are expected to attend Britain's first state burial in six decades, but there is no official confirmation on the attendees yet.
