According to Page Six, it has been informed by several sources that Meghan Markle has been fired by WME following months of conjecture regarding her affiliation with the leading Hollywood agency.
Why are there rumors about WME dropping Meghan?
Although she is thought to have met with her regular agents, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has not met with the agency's Uber powerbroker Ari Emanuel since January of last year, as per a report by Page Six.Meghan Markle was fired because she was "too demanding" and "difficult to work with," according to several rumors, as quoted in a report by Page Six.
WME dispelled the rumors and maintains that it is still working with her. The announcement comes as the mother of two gets ready to premiere "With Love, Meghan," her new lifestyle series on Netflix, on Tuesday.
WME heavyweights Brad Slater, who represents Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Jill Smoller, who represents the former "Suits" star's longtime friend, tennis champion Serena Williams, were personally looking after Markle, who had only been with the top agency since April 2023, as quoted in a report by Page Six.
The agency is still working on some of her projects for Archewell, the foundation she and her husband, Prince Harry, run, according to reports.
Furthermore, it is unclear whether Markle's outburst in January 2024, immediately following the holidays, was directed at Archewell or herself. The duchess reportedly demanded a meeting and "expected decks and plans."
