A brief glimpse into Hollyoaks' Winter Trailer has confirmed heightened speculation surrounding Mercedes' whereabouts.
A decade after she left the show, Hollyoaks is set to welcome back one of its most-adored characters.

The long-running show will see Jacqui McQueen return to the eponymous village reprise her iconic role in a special episode, featuring actress Claire Cooper.

Channel 4 is keep the details of her cameo under the wraps for the time being. It is, however, anticipated that the storyline could involve Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe).


As per the current storyline, Mercedes, who is engaged to Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood), is in a secret relationship with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) in recent months.

Adding to the complexity, the former Dog landlady is currently pregnant, but uncertainty looms regarding the identity of the baby's father.

Jacqui marks the third significant return announced by Hollyoaks in recent weeks. Emma Rigby is confirmed to reprise her role as Hannah Ashworth, and Suzanne Hall is also set to return as mum Suzanne Ashworth.

‘In true Hollyoaks style there is so much happening, lots of twists and turns and as always a huge storyline to come,’ said actress Suzanne.

Viewers will remember that Darren Osborne (played by Ashley Taylor Dawson) had an affair with Suzanne while married to Hannah. This extramarital affair resulted in Suzanne giving birth to Darren's twins, Jack and Francine.

In an intriguing development, the much older Jack and Frankie are set to make their return to the village next year. Hollyoaks fans can anticipate an eventful 2024!
