The late Queen's grandchildren are the first ones to create history as it is the first that a monarch's grandchildren take part in the vigil ceremony.

With utter silence and bowed head, all the eight grandchildren stood in the different directions of the coffin, guarding their grandmother's coffin while the public came and paid their respect.

While Prince of Wales, William stood at the head of the coffin, Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry stood at the end of the coffin. The vigil started at 18:01 BST for fifteen minutes.

After the soldier's tap-tap on the ground, the vigil was over and everyone followed Prince William out of the hall. On Friday, a similar coffin vigil took part with the Queen's children.
