Helen Mirren spoke about her relationship with Liam Neeson. The famed actor, 77, said in a new American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) The Magazine cover story published on Tuesday and shared exclusively with PEOPLE that every one of her lovers had to have a shirt designed by her.

Peter O'Toole, her filmmaker spouse Taylor Hackford (with whom she celebrated their 25th anniversary in December 2021), and Neeson, 70, are among the men who buy handmade shirts by Mirren.

She created one for Liam; weirdly, she revealed in the interview that Neeson has one of her handmade shirts. The actor said that while she and Neeson were in love, their relationship was not meant to endure.


She said they weren't meant to be together, but they adored each other. She still loved him. He's a wonderful person.

During the conversation, Mirren chuckled when it was mentioned that she had her line of shirts, calling the goods quite awful clothes. When asked if she has changed throughout the years, Mirren said that, in a way, they changed completely.
