HBO show creators ‘disappointed’ as HBO Max abruptly pulls out dozens of series
Warnes Bros Discovery will be removing several titles from HBO Max to save money leaving the series creators ‘disappointed’.

HBO's famous "Westworld" is also being culled. Although it needed at least one more season to conclude the story, "Westworld" was cancelled earlier this year. "The Nevers" has also been pulled down from the streaming platform midway through its first season. It will leave HBO Max before part two of season one could make its debut next year. However, it is believed that "The Nevers" and "Minx" could come back on different platforms.
As per Variety, Warner Bros Discovery has taken this decision to save money. Variety noted that if the shows remained on HBO Max, the company would have to pay residuals to the crew and cast of each project.
Meanwhile, Ellen Rapoport, the creator of "Minx," has expressed his ‘disappointment’ with the company's decision. Rapoport tweeted that he was "obviously disappointed" that "Minx" had to leave HBO Max. The creator of "Love Life," Sam Boyd, was also "bummed" with the news.
Recently, HBO Max faced controversy over the release of the film "Batgirl." Notably, despite being completed, the film was shelved in August. At that time, a spokesperson had said the decision to shelve "Batgirl" reflected the company's strategic shift related to the DC Universe and HBO Max.
