Harry Styles promotes Democrat Beto O'Rourke for Texas governor during Austin concert

During a concert at Austin's Moody Center, singer Harry Styles was seen endorsing Democrat Beto O'Rourke for Texas governor. During Sunday's gig, Styles displayed a "Beto for Texas" sticker on his guitar, which the crowd could see in a close-up on the big screen. O'Rourke was then seen in the throng cheering alongside admirers of the pop star.

O'Rourke was subsequently spotted greeting supporters as he walked around the arena. Styles' apparent endorsement of the Texas Democrat, who is attempting to topple current Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in November, drew cheers from the audience.

O'Rourke, a former member of the United States House of Representatives, was unsuccessful in his bid to unseat Texas Republican Ted Cruz in the Senate in 2018.


O'Rourke campaigned for president in the 2020 election cycle as well but pulled out in November 2019 due to a lack of traction and financial concerns. He later backed Vice President Joe Biden.

Styles has already been active in politics this year, participating in a September drive to assist people to register to vote ahead of the November election.
