Grim Reaper singer Steve Grimmett dies

Steve Grimmet also led two bands, Lionheart and Onslaught, between 1988 and 2006. Grimmett was the longest-serving member of the Grim Reapers until his passing.

Steve Grimmett, the lead vocalist of British heavy metal outfit Grim Reaper, has died. He was 62. His son Russ Grimmett took to Facebook to announce the sad news. He said it is impossible to put the current feelings into words.

He noted that his father was very well-known, and it is becoming easier for people to know than what he and his family would have liked.

In his post, Russ wrote that unfortunately his father had passed today, and it left a massive hole in their hearts and world. He said they were all heartbroken and wished his dad a good and tight sleep. He ended by saying they all love him.


The cause of death has not yet been given. Steve Grimmett joined Grim Reaper in 1982. They released Rock You To Hell in 1987, Fear No Evil in 1985, and See You In Hell in 1983. The band disbanded in 1988 before Steve Grimmett revived it as his Grim Reaper in 2006.
