Grand Tour star James May crashes rally car into wall, lands in hospital. This is what happened
Grand Tour star James May has got injured after crashing his rally car into a wall at 75 mph. It seems to have been due to a stunt gone wrong. He has suffered a broken rib in the incident. He took part in a challenge for a hit Amazon Prime series.

May took part in a dangerous challenge (drag-style) and was filming with his co-stars on the Grand Tour, said reports. The challenge required the contestants — Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May — to take turns along a tunnel that faced a rock wall with speeding rally cars. The tunnel's light only came on when the cars sped along, as per reports. The drivers only got three seconds if they ran out of pace to react.
May was late to react and went straight into the wall before being helped out of the car and taken to the hospital, the reports added. The paramedics came in quickly as May's co-stars got worried about his state. The medical staff was on set as such shooting requires back-up if anything goes wrong, as it did.
May smashed his head against the wall hard and complained about neck and back aches and bleeding. He seemed to have a broken rib, and that the shooting for May was abandoned as his co-stars continued.
James was given the all-clear and joined his co-stars. His co-star Richard had a traumatic injury in 2006, and this accident would have brought back some haunting memories.
Richard was in a coma for a couple of weeks apart from suffering a brain injury. He crashed in a Vampire Dragster. He also suffered from post-traumatic amnesia post-accident. The front tyre failed, going at 319mph, and the accident occurred. The car flipped, and Hammond had his eye damaged.
