Jerry was born in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York City. He started his career at an early age. When he was 13, he attempted to build a radio station that later was used to remove game cartridges. In 1982, an accolade that Jerry earned from the Black Enterprise magazine was the title "father of the video game cartridge".

Jerry has also developed the pause button. He made a place for the Homebrew Computer Club. So, Google is celebrating Jerry's 82nd birthday and admiring his contribution in the form of a Google doodle.
