Girls Aloud, formed in 2002 through the ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals, made an impactful debut with their first single, "Sound of the Underground," which secured the first of their four UK chart-topping hits.
Popular female band 'Girls Aloud' is all set to reunite for an arena tour next year in memory of their late bandmate, Sarah Harding.

Taking to social media to share the news about their reunion, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh said: “Announcing the Girls Aloud Show arena tour next May/June 2024. A celebration of Sarah, our music & our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing & dance with you again.”

Harding, who achieved the remarkable feat of 21 UK Top 10 singles as a member of the band, tragically passed away at the age of 39 in 2021, succumbing to the battle with breast cancer.

Cheryl said: “It hasn’t felt right, until now, to do anything without her. But now we feel strong enough, emotionally.”

Walsh added: “For us, it will feel very much like she’s there. She came alive on stage. That was the happiest she ever was. With grief, there’s definitely a shift where it’s like, ‘OK, you’re ready to celebrate that person.’”
The band has refuted rumors surrounding the recording of a new album and the filming of a music video.

Girls Aloud, formed in 2002 through the ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals, made an impactful debut with their first single, "Sound of the Underground," which secured the first of their four UK chart-topping hits. The Popstars format not only gave rise to Girls Aloud but also created a boyband, One True Voice, setting the stage for a Christmas No 1 showdown.

Girls Aloud went on to become the UK's most successful girl group of the century, achieving four No 1 hits and having four of their five studio albums make the Top 10. Their widespread appeal was evident in their high-profile fans, including Bono, Ken Livingstone, the former Mayor of London, and former Prime Minister David Cameron.

The pinnacle of their success came with the 2009 Brit Award-winning single "The Promise," a No 1 hit. During the award ceremony, Harding emphasized, "It's about time!"

Following a hiatus in 2009 to focus on solo endeavors, Girls Aloud regrouped for a reunion tour and released a greatest hits album titled "Ten" in 2012. However, the journey concluded in 2013 when, after their final reunion tour in Liverpool, the band officially announced their split.
