Geena Davis opens up about not becoming a mother until her 40s. Here's what she says

On ITV’s Loose Women Wednesday episode, American actor, Geena Davis shared her experiences as a first-time parent in her 40s. Davis has three children, a 20-year-old daughter, Alizeh, and 18-year-old twins, Kaiis and Kian.

Thelma & Louise and Cutthroat Island actor Geena Davis explained on ITV’s Loose Women Wednesday episode, why she is grateful for not embracing motherhood until she reached her 40s.

In the interview, Davis revealed that she encourages her children by showcasing behaviours- a trick she learned from her parents. She also added that she wanted to have children late because of how mature she hoped to be to become a mother.

She revealed that she was happy that she had her children in her 40s. She also added that she wanted to wait and hoped she could still bear children by that time. She thought the longer she waited, the more mature she would become.




Geena Davis also said that she didn’t have a lot of self-esteem, but she wanted her children to have high self-esteem.

In previous interviews, the Star has also opened up about becoming a parent later in life. In an interview with The Guardian in 2020, she recollected that she had her first daughter when she was 46 and later her twins at 48 before telling how lucky she was to have them so late. In another interview with Good Housekeeping in 2006, Davis talked about becoming pregnant in her 40s.
