'Funny Girl', Lea Michele to release cast album. Check date

Fans who have enjoyed covers of "Funny Girl" songs will now have more to add to their collection. Until now, the most popular covers of the songs have been on the show Glee, which featured covers of "Don't Rain on My Parade and People". An announcement has been made that the company of Broadway's Funny Girl revival and Lea Michele have created a cast album of the songs. The album is set to release on Friday, November 18.

When she made the curtain call on Wednesday, Lea Michele hinted at the album. Her announcement was then shared on the production's Instagram account. She stated that they had a secret that they wanted to share with the audience before realising that she was live on Instagram. She then said they are very proud to announce the release of the original cast recording of Funny Girl. She shared that all of them had worked hard in the studio to create an incredible album. She also stated that as a fan of Funny Girl, she is very proud of it.



The original revival production of Funny Girl saw Beanie Feldstein in the role of Fanny Brice. But neither she nor the rest of the cast made any recordings of the show's signature songs.
