Reports said that the police arrived at Fold Hill in Friskney on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report for safety concerns around 1.49 pm on Tuesday. The police started negotiating with the female occupant of the property around 4.30 pm and eventually forced themselves inside after an eight-hour standoff.
After entering the house around 1.00 GMT on Wednesday, the police found the two injured boys, who were sent to the hospital. The police force deployed firearms officers on the ground and closed the area for a few hours. However, authorities claimed there was no wider threat to the residents from the incident. Moreover, the injuries that the boys sustained were also not thought to be life-threatening.
The police did not reveal the identity of the boys or the suspect, and the motive behind the attempted murder remains unknown. A spokesperson for the Lincolnshire police informed that a mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office of Police Conduct after the incident.
Residents claimed that everyone in the vicinity was friendly and were shocked after the incident. One of the residents said the incident showed that such crimes could happen anywhere and nobody was safe.
