French urban climber Alain Robert, also known as the 'Spiderman', recently scaled the Tour Hekla in Paris to promote peace in the Middle East. The 48-story skyscraper served as the backdrop for his daring act, where he highlighted the urgent need for peace between Israel and Palestine.

Robert took to Instagram to share his experience, stating, "Yesterday or on the 22nd of October I did manage to climb the new Hekla building in La defense. A very tiring ascent that was changing all the time and that was rather fragile at some point. However, I managed to reach the top of the 221m in slightly more than 2 hours. An ascent I did to call for urgent peace talk between Israel and Gaza as the Oslo accords in 1993 that had been signed by Rabin Unfortunately assassinated in 1994."

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, which is already in its third week and has grown to be the bloodiest of the five Gaza wars, makes this call for peace at a crucial time. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that 14,254 people have been injured and at least 4,651 people have died in the besieged area of Gaza. In the meantime, the initial Hamas strike led to more than 1,400 fatalities in Israel.

Alain Robert has a history of using his climbing stunts to raise awareness about important issues. In the past, the 60 year old climber drew attention to climate change and drought by scaling a 166-meter skyscraper in Barcelona. He also supported pension law protests by climbing a building in April.

Known for his high-risk "free solo" climbs, Robert relies solely on his bare hands and climbing shoes. Moreover, he has climbed over 150 buildings throughout his career, including famous monuments like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
