Freddie Mercury: Queen, Culture Club pay tributes to the rock legend on his 31st death anniversary
On the 31st death anniversary of Queen’s Freddie Mercury, bandmates and Culture Club pay tribute to him. The lead vocalist passed away in 1991.

The band, Queen’s members took to Instagram to share their memories and love for their bandmate, Freddie Mercury.
Queen’s guitarist, Brian May, also the band's founding member, shared a photo of Mercury. He wrote: ‘Love ya, Freddie. Bri’ as the caption of the photograph.
Roger Taylor, the drummer, also took to his Instagram to share an old photo with Mercury while captioning it ‘memories’. The photo was taken in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1974.
Similarly, the pop group Culture Club also paid tribute by posting a photo of Boy George and Freddie from 5 November 1985. The photo was taken backstage at the Fashion Aid Event at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Queen, the band, was enrolled in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. In October, they released a song featuring Freddie. The release was a surprise for their fans who had not heard from them in more than eight years.
The song, Face It Alone, was originally recorded in 1988 during their sessions for the album – The Miracle. For reasons unknown, the song did not make the final cut.
