Mihajlovic's tragic death has left the football world in despair and sorrow. Having played for top Serie A clubs like Roma, Inter, Lazio, and Sampordia, players from across the spectrum have sent their condolences and expressed grief over the passing away of the 53-year-old.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who recently lost her friend in a shootout at a café in Rome, also sent her condolences on Mihajlovic's death. She wrote in a post that he fought like a lion on and off the field. Meloni further added that his courage in fighting leukaemia had set an example for others suffering from the disease.
