Foreign secretary James Cleverly defends Suella Braverman’s re-appointment amid backlash
Opponents raise eyebrows as Suella Braverman returns as home secretary in Rishi Sunak’s new cabinet demanding Cabinet office investigation. She has a ‘very clear agenda’, says James Cleverly.

Suella Braveman used her private email to send secure information, which breached the ministerial code. After which Braveman resigned from the post of home secretary with scathing remarks about Liz Truss’s government in the resignation letter.
But yesterday, she was hired back in her previous position by the new PM as he opted for a number of familiar faces in his cabinet.
However, this move by Sunak was attacked by the Labour party with the accusation of 'putting party before country', as they see it as a move to win over the right wing of his party.
But Cleverly said that Braveman had 'very, very clear ideas' about how to improve Home Office’s performance and that she had apologised for her mistake.
Reportedly, Suella has shown her 'willingness to take responsibility' for her deeds, and the PM wants to see the plan she has set out, which is a 'crucial crime-fighting agenda', so the PM decided to re-appoint her.
Because of her strong views on alleged cultural war, she had made a name for herself in parliament. Also, she holds firm positions around policies such as her support for the Rwanda deportation scheme and cutting new migration.
