Flybe, a British airline, has announced its immediate halt in operations and the cancellation of all flights. The news was confirmed by both the company and the British Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in a statement released on Saturday.
Flybe operated regular flights to a variety of destinations, including airports within the UK, as well as Amsterdam and Geneva. The company had flights originating from cities, such as Belfast City, Birmingham and Heathrow. The CAA stated in its official statement that Flybe has "ceased trading."
The CAA's consumer director, Paul Smith, advised passengers not to go to the airport as all Flybe flights have been cancelled.
The warning was reiterated by the airline in a social media statement, which also confirmed that the cancelled flights will not be rescheduled. The firm has since entered into administration.
However, as per the latest developments, London North Eastern Railway said via tweet that Flybe customers, who had their flights cancelled on January 28 and January 29 are able to travel for free on any LNER service to their intended destination by presenting their cancelled airline ticket.

Similarly, to support affected customers after the suspension of Flybe services, a discounted one-way fare of £50/€60 plus taxes, fees and charges, including a 23kg hold luggage allowance, is being offered on selected routes, British Airways confirmed via a tweet.
The collapse of Flybe was caused by the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the airline industry. Despite being rescued in 2021 through a deal with company Thyme Opco, Flybe was unable to overcome the effects of the pandemic.
