Four and a half years, that's what it took for the US Men's National Team to name a consistent captain representing them, Tylar Adams will be the first African American man to lead USA team in World Cup.

For the first time, the team named Tyler Adams their permanent captain for the FIFA World Cup 2022.





Tyler Adams will now lead his team against Wales in their first match scheduled for November 21, becoming the team's youngest captain. Adams will also be the first black man to captain the team in its World Cup history.

Before being named the national captain, Tyler Adams captained the team nine team before. However, each game was an individual game, and he held the captaincy on a rotating basis.

Under the latest head coach, Gregg Berhalter, 14 players have captained the team since 2019. Tyler has, thus, become the first permanent captain of the team.
