Two individuals have tragically lost their lives, and another has sustained injuries following a shooting incident in a southern Swiss town, as confirmed by local authorities.

According to reports from the police in the Valais canton, the assailant discharged multiple rounds of gunfire in two separate locations within Sion, a municipality with a population of approximately 35,000 residents.

Law enforcement officials swiftly mobilized to detain the perpetrator, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time.


While the police stated a semblance of familiarity between the assailant and the victims, no intricate specifics were disclosed.
