'Family Thrilled': UK PM Rishi Sunak discusses life in tiny Downing Street flat

Just over a week after becoming the new British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak has provided an inside story about how his wife Akshata Murty and their kids, Anoushka and Krishna, are adjusting to life at 10 Downing Street.

The ex-chancellor, who is also Indian-rooted, set convention by coming back to his smaller apartment over 10 Downing Street, which is traditionally the residence of the Chancellor of Exchequer.

In an interview with a media outlet, the UK PM revealed that Jeremy Hunt, Chancellor, would stay in the larger apartment above 11 Downing Street as he would value the additional space with his three children. He also mentioned that their children cherished their former residence on the renowned street when he was the finance minister.





PM Rishi Sunak claimed they believed Hunt would benefit from having a little additional room. Thus he believed doing that was the right move. They lived there for two and a half years, he added.
