Italy and England, who met in the final of Euro 2020, are now in direct competition to qualify for the marquee tournament in Germany. Group C also includes North Macedonia, which was banned by Roberto Mancini's squad from the tournament.

Only the top two finishers in each group of the seven nations will go on to the next round. There will be five of the seven groups of countries.




Scotland has been placed alongside Spain and Norway, while Wales will face off against Croatia. However, after being placed in a group containing the Netherlands and France, the Republic of Ireland seems to have an uphill battle.

In addition, two teams from each of the three groups of six countries will qualify for Euro 2024. Northern Ireland's opponents in the six-nation group are Denmark, Finland, and Slovenia.



Qualifying periods span a whole year, from March to November. The qualifying round is conducted March 23–25, 2023, while the finals are held November 19–21, 2023.

Since the four qualifying teams for the Nations League finals will all compete in that tournament's championship, they will not be playing on either Matchday 3 or Matchday 4 of the Nations League.
