Emmerdale fans can see major character return in summer 2023, hints producer Jane Hudson

In an interview with Digital Spy, the producer Jane Hudson has opened up about what can be expected from the show in the future and if there were any characters who will make a return.

She hints on the possible return of a well-loved character for the show’s June 2023 run. This leaves us Emmerdale fans in anticipation and excited to see which major is set to make a comeback.

The producer spilled that while no plans are currently being pursued for any character to return, she was, however, considering bringing back a particular past resident.


With her team currently in talks to direct the plotlines for June on the ITV soap, talks about a potential comeback has got Jane "giddy" as she revealed to The Mirror.

She said: “We are busy working on summer storylines and I always like to have a summer spectacular. So, if I say that, I have to come up with something now!" speaking about what viewers can expect from the summer instalment.

When asked about her plans for 2023, she said: "We're storylining June at the minute. We are busy working on our summer storylines at the moment because I always like to have a bit of a summer spectacular."

It's after this that she was asked about any possible comebacks in the box, following the brief return of Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metacalfe in October that she flipped the coin on her audience.



After initially saying no she later sprung up about an idea of hers, which might not happen but if it does, it is something that the viewers "will love".

"Ooh! I can't tell you! I can't say because I’m still checking. We are doing June storylines at the minute, and I had an idea the other day and thought ‘Ah, our viewers would love that’. She teased.

Meanwhile the show is in works for a spectacular summer as its 2022 season punched with Liv’s is released from prison and reconciliation with Vinny still stirs the audience.
