Broccoli, who produces the 007 franchise with her brother Michael G. Wilson, 80, has previously spoken about casting Daniel's replacement in the leading role. While discussing casting on ‘Girls on Film’ podcast in 2021, Broccoli added that they prefer a British actor. She added, however, that the British can be many things and that they are open to some diversity in the role, implying that the character can eventually be non-binary and that the next actor might not be white.
Since Bond filmmakers are leaning towards going with an ethnic-minority star to better reflect modern society, all of this may play into Laviscounts favour for the casting of the iconic role, as per a media report.
