Emergency services flock as person gets into difficulty in water in UK village
Multiple emergency services of the UK responded to an emergency when a person got into a problematic water situation in Stalybridge.

A person reportedly got into difficulty in water in Carrbrook, Stalybridge, located in Greater Manchester in the UK. Emergency assistance was called, after which the police, paramedics, and the fire crew responded to the situation. Residents of the area also reported spotting two air ambulances.
A spokesman for the police stated that they were called around 6:30 pm to lend assistance to an individual who was stuck in a problematic water situation. Specialist search teams and emergency services were at the scene, and the investigation continued. On the other hand, a media report stated that the incident's area had been cordoned off and would stay that way until search and rescue operations don't conclude.

The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service stated that the search operation was ongoing. The department stated that firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 6:30 pm. Multiple firefighting teams, the Technical Response Unit, and boat crew are working at the scene along with other emergency services.
Meanwhile, the area's locals are distressed and scared after the man's disappearance. They have stated that multiple individuals have drowned in the water, which is meant for fishing, not swimming. They are consoling each another in this challenging time and fear for the safety of their children.
One of the residents stated that he got back home at around 6 pm, and then he heard people screaming and shouting for help. Immediately after that, he saw ambulances entering the area, which was later closed off when emergency services started.

This summer, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have conducted multiple campaigns to alert the residents of the dangers associated with open waters. Over the last five years, the department has been called upon in 41 fatal water-related incidents. Moreover, it has been observed that a significant proportion of these incidents involved younger people.
