Emergency resurfacing underway after M6 gets closed due to severe collision near Leyland

While explaining the situation, the North West Highways stated that the M6 southbound carriageway was opened. It added that two of the three lanes - Lane 2 and Lane 3 - will stay shut for emergency resurfacing, which was required after the serious collision. As per the North West Highways, the emergency resurfacing will take place on November 20 evening. While warning about the delay, it requested people to keep extra time in hand for their journey.
Lancashire Police have also posted an update regarding the situation. The police noted that the M6 Southbound Junction 28 would remain closed following the incident. While asking people to have patience until the opening of all lanes, the police noted that, currently, only one lane was open.
