The firework display, which is a 45-minute show that generally attracts more than a quarter of a million spectators, will not occur this year at Edinburgh Festival. Due to Covid restrictions, the firework display also didn’t occur in 2020 and 2021.
Though this year is the 75th anniversary of the festival, the fireworks display will not happen this year as well. This is again due to the pandemic, as informed by the organisers of Edinburgh Festival.
According to a representative of the Edinburgh International Festival, fireworks display will be avoided this year “due to planning times, coming out of the pandemic”.
The spokesperson also said that the Princes Street Garden will still be a significant event.
