EasyJet flights have been cancelled leaving flyers with several questions and apprehensions. We have come up with answers to relevant queries.

Agencies
easyJet, a popular airline, has recently announced the cancellation of 1,700 flights to and from Gatwick Airport, causing potential disruption for thousands of travelers during the summer season. The company attributes these cancellations to the challenging air traffic control (ATC) conditions arising from the conflict in Ukraine and the possibility of strike action.

EasyJet Flight Status

In response to the situation, easyJet has already rebooked 95 percent of the affected passengers onto alternative flights as of Monday. However, approximately 9,000 individuals are still awaiting new departure arrangements.

If you are uncertain about the status of your easyJet flight, the airline should notify you if it has been cancelled. Alternatively, you can check the easyJet flight tracker or directly contact the airline for updated information.

EasyJet flight Cancellation Policy

Passengers traveling to, from, or within the UK are protected by legal rights under UK law. However, flyers will have to check whether they are eligible for the compensation or not.

The amount of compensation flyer may receive for a flight cancellation depends on the distance of the customer's flight. In general, one can receive up to £350, unless she/he was informed of the cancellation between one and two weeks prior to the scheduled departure time and were offered an alternative flight that departs no more than two hours before the original departure time and reaches the destination within four hours of the original arrival time.

However, if the passenger was informed of the cancellation less than seven days before the scheduled departure time, the re-routed flight must depart no more than an hour before the original departure time and arrive at your final destination less than two hours after the original arrival time.

It's important to note that if the passenger was given at least two weeks' notice of the cancellation, the airline is not required to provide compensation but must arrange an alternative flight for the flyer.
