Lola Pearce's tragic sickness storyline starts, and her entire world is suddenly turned upside down.

With the help of Brain Tumor Research and Macmillan Cancer Support, "EastEnders" has developed a plot that will let fans witness how Lola and her loved ones cope with receiving her diagnosis. As Lola adjusts to her new life as a young person with a brain tumor, the plot will follow her journey and those around her. Danielle Harold expressed her gratitude for being trusted with such a meaningful plot when she agreed to take on the project.

She said that it had been painful to chat with the families impacted by brain tumors and hear their experiences, adding that, tragically, many of the viewers would be able to connect with Lola's narrative.

She stated that she feels fortunate to have them since they have been so fantastic in sharing their experiences with her. Without their assistance, she couldn't carry out this plot. The next week, when Lola discovers that Lexi's clothing has been torn just before her pageant, panic breaks in.
