The Earthshot Prize has unveiled the 15 finalists for the 2022 edition of the competition. The ambitious initiative was founded by Prince William to reward individuals and organisations that create solutions to pressing environmental problems. The Earthshot Prize 2022 will be awarded in five categories, and each category has three finalists. Here’s the complete list of finalists:

Winners in all five categories will be announced on December 2 at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. The Earthshot Prize Council comprises Prince William, Sir David Attenborough, Queen Raina of Jordan and Shakira. Each winner will be awarded a sum of £1 million to further their research and development of environmental solutions.

Commenting on the finalists’ selection, Prince William said that the selected ones are the reasons to be optimistic about Earth’s future. He added that he was excited for the winners to be announced in Boston, the home of President John F. Kennedy. William and his wife, Kate, will be joined by world leaders, climate activists, business personalities, etc.
