Doctor Who actor Jodie Whittaker shares surprise about her last day on set

On her last day, the cast of Doctor Who surprised the lead actor Jodie Whittaker with a pleasant gift. Ncuti Gatwa, who will shortly reanimate as the next Time Lord, sat down for an exclusive interview with Digital Spy to discuss dramatic feelings with co-star Mandip Gill.

Jodie Whittaker said that the crew had lined up while she shot some shots on the TARDIS in the morning, and as they entered, the entire crew applauded her like a ‘sports hero’.




She remembered how thrilled she was when Mandip was about to perform and she knew it was going to happen. She was giggling, clapping, and weeping. Jodie Whittaker termed the entire experience as emotional.

While weighing on not having a strong sense of pressure now that her final Doctor Who episode is secured, Jodie Whittaker said she supposed the pressure's gone now that it's done. She noted, ‘We are not dismissible’.

She continued saying that she did not feel the pressure. Jodie Whittaker remarked that has an emotional sense of nostalgia. They also had a full year to continue acting as Yaz and the Doctor, for all intents and purposes, thanks to the fact that this was shot a year ago. The good news, she said, is that if anything makes you feel very emotional, it's probably because it's been a memorable moment. So it's the main lesson that has been so amazing.
