The author of the cookbook believes that his mother has a very special place in the annals of royal history because of her culinary skills. According to Parker Bowles, who spoke to Discover Britain, he thinks his mother was the first queen to prepare food, as quoted in a report by In Style.
He went on to say that Camilla cooks less now but has cooked for two children for 20 years and is very good.
Unlike other royals like Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, who were not required to learn how to cook, Camilla was raised as a commoner before becoming the Queen of England.

Parker Bowles added that he has always been fascinated by the culinary industry and its connection to the royal family in an interview with Discover Britain. He did admit, though, that he had avoided the subject up until this point for obvious reasons, waiting for his mother to become a royal before delving deeply.
