Diana Armstrong sets Guinness World Records for longest fingernails, reveals she did not visit salon in last 25 years

According to a PTI report, in a bid to make a Guinness World Record, Dubai unveiled the world's largest fountain on October 22. The fountain is located at the Pointe, a lifestyle and dining destination, and will be spread over 14,000 sq ft of sea water while its super shooter will be 105-metre tall and have over 3,000 LED lights. Here are some of the other records that UAE can boast of.

The world’s tallest hotel opened in the UAE on February 12, 2018, targeting families and travellers. The gold-coloured, 75-storey Gevora Hotel measures 356.33 m (1,169 ft) tall from ground level to the top, with 528 hotel rooms that go up to the 71st floor. The tower took four years to build and was originally planned as a residential building but was recently converted into a hotel instead.

The largest hand-woven carpet measures 5,630 m² (60,600.81 ft²) and was manufactured by the Iran Carpet Company. It was created for the Abu Dhabi mosque and was measured in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2007. The carpet was created in 9 parts and assembled in the mosque. The carpet would have been around 6,000 square metres originally, but parts of it had to be taken away in order to fit it onto the floor in the mosque.

The 2.7 km tunnel is the longest covered tunnel in the Middle East and connects Khor Fakkan with Sharjah.

Formula Rossa at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, UAE, can accelerate up to 240 km/h (149.1 mph) and 52 m upwards in 4.9 seconds. It opened to the public on 4 November 2010.
