The West Yorkshire Police responded to a distressing scene at Dearnley Street in the Ravensthorpe area of Dewsbury on Sunday at 6:43 pm, discovering a severely injured woman in her 20s.

The woman whose identity is not yet disclosed succumbed to her injuries, despite the immediate efforts of emergency services.

This triggered a late-night, large-scale manhunt to detain a suspect already identified by authorities.

Around 5:50 am, the police declared the end of the manhunt with a 35-year-old man in custody and specified "we are not looking for anyone else now."

Detective Chief Superintendent Sarah Jones expressed understanding of the concern and worry this incident has caused among residents.

"The incident is being treated as a domestic-related incident," Jones said.
