Constantine 2: Director Francis Lawrence eyes R-rating for Keanu Reeves sequel
Constantine 2 will be an R-rated film, according to director Francis Lawrence, featuring Keanu Reeves as the eponymous antihero.

Lawrence states that his biggest regret with the first season is that it was filmed for PG-13 classification but received an R rating. He only aims to shoot for an R rating for the second season.
Lawrence once stated that the most important thing for him was that he followed all the guidelines to make a PG-13 film with blood, violence, language, and sexuality. Unfortunately, the first part received an R rating because of the grey zone area, which was quite humiliating. He expresses that if he had got an R, he would have loved to make an intense R-rated movie, i.e., scarier and brutal. So, with season 2, he is set to focus purely on R rating only.
Why did part 2 take so much time?
Lawrence explained that the delay in part 2 was due to Warner Bros, who had Constantine's character involved in other projects. He finally got permission to produce his version of Constantine. Akiva Goldsman, the producer of Constantine, will write Constantine 2.
