Conservative Party MP Sir Roger Gale raises concerns over deplorable conditions at Manston migration centre in Kent
With outbreaks of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and diphtheria among the immigrants, Conservative Party MP Sir Roger Gale thinks the existing conditions at Manston migration centre are unacceptable.

As the Border Force Migration centre in Dover suffered a petrol bomb attack recently, hundreds of asylum seekers were transferred to Manston Migrant Centre, increasing its headcount to a whopping 4,000. This is 3,000 more than the current capacity of the facility, causing inhumane living conditions for the immigrants. He pointed out that the system is broken and needs to be rectified at once, especially since 1,000 more immigrants will be arriving on Sunday.
The facility is meant to hold people for no longer than 24 hours for scrutiny before being transferred to other accommodation. However, it's been months since these people have been crammed together in wretched conditions. This is due to the fact that there have been "out of control" crossings of boats. The government needs to find an answer to illegal crossings and to quickly take care of backlogged applications.
