According to a source, the Princess of Wales' prospective position is being examined as part of a larger review of royal patronages.
England will be in the same group as Wales when the World Cup begins tomorrow. Angry Welsh supporters, some of whom advocate their country's independence, accused William of favoring England as he handed out their jersey numbers this week.
Actor Michael Sheen tweeted on Tuesday that he (Prince William) will surely support whomever he wants and that his role as President of the Football Association makes his visit reasonable– but completely sees holding the title Prince of Wales at the same time as completely inappropriate.
William responded that, despite his royal title, he will support both teams and will not change his allegiance. In February, Kate Middleton was named patron of the England Ruby Union and Rugby League.
